Apply for a Grant

Our grants programme supports migrants and their families living with severe poverty or difficulties caused by an inability to assess mainstream support. The programme helps migrants meet basic needs that are necessary for their general well-being. There is no minimum or maximum limit to our award. Each application will be processed on its own merit. We are open to applications all year round and aim to process applications within three weeks of receiving them.

Application criteria

  • The grant is open to those subject to immigration control and those not entitled to key welfare benefits and local authority housing. Supporting documentation required is a copy of the applicant’s resident card showing this condition
  • Household savings must be less than £2,000 for a single applicant or £4,000 for a couple/family
  • Applicants must have lived in the UK for a minimum of 6 months
  • Applicants must not have received a grant in the last 12 months
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old

What support do we offer?

  • Daily living expenses, including food, clothing and household items
  • Travel expenses
  • Rent Arrears

We do not assist with:

  • Payment for house purchase
  • Tuition fees
  • Medical Treatment

Application Guidance

All applications are completed online. If you have a disability or medical condition that prevents you from accessing the online application, please contact us at info@prorecourse.org.uk. Applicants are advised to complete their application in one go as the form will not save answers. The application should take no longer than 30 minutes to complete but we recommend that you familiarise yourself with the questions on the form to plan your answers in advance before completing the online application form. Documentation that need to be submitted at the time of application are a copy of the main applicant’s resident card and previous 6 months bank statements.

Awards decision

We are open to applications all year round and aim to process applications within three weeks of receiving them. Successful applicants will be notified thereafter. Payments will be made directly into applicants’ UK bank details.
