Counselling Services

Migrants often face traumatising situations. The very nature of the precariousness of their status inflicts psychological trauma and protracted feelings of instability and the inability to make long term plans. Marriages break down as a result, families are separated, lose their homes and/or exist in a state of limbo when their immigration status or personal circumstances change. The complex immigration system can often be an overwhelming and challenging one to navigate in these circumstances. There are constant worries of money, deportation, children’s wellbeing and education all of which inevitably lead to psychological issues. ProRecourse works with selected mental health practitioners who provide counselling and equip migrants with the tools needed to make sense of the present circumstances and help them in their journey to recovery and resilience.

Service users who require an interpreter will be provided one using a three-way telephone call with the interpreter.
